Joseph William "Joe" Braselton

Joseph William “Joe” Braselton, 86, of Flowery Branch passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in 1937 to the late Jake and Nelle Braselton. He graduated from Oakwood High School and then graduated with degrees from both Truett-McConnell College and the University of Georgia. He was married to the love of his life Catherine in 1964, and they called the Flowery Branch area home for the entirety of their marriage. Joe was the owner of North Georgia Bag Company, and he also served honorably in the National Guard. Joe’s faith was known to all who knew him through his words and actions, and he served as a deacon at Chestnut Mountain Baptist Church and then as an active member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Most of all, Joe was a devoted husband, a loving father, and an adoring (and adored) Papa.

Joe is survived by his wife Catherine, his daughter Bambi (Russell), his granddaughters Sarah Catherine and Victoria “Mae Mae,” and his brothers Milian, Philip, and Jake.

Graveside services will be held Thursday March 14, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. at the Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Mike Taylor and Rev. Shaun Daley will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Little & Davenport Funeral Home.
