Sue (Chapman) Reidling

Sue Chapman Reidling 74, of Gainesville, GA passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at her residence following an extended illness. 

Mrs. Reidling was born in Gainesville, GA to the late Stuart Chapman and Nellie Young Chapman. She worked for Slack Auto Parts in bookkeeping for 21 years before she retired from City Plumbing and Electric where she was responsible for accounts payable.  She was also a lifelong member of Mt Vernon Baptist Church where she was a choir member and served as a Bible school teacher.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law Terrell and Bonnie (Wingo) Chapman, brother Jerry Chapman, sister and brother-in-law Brenda and Charles Whelchel, nephew Phillip Chapman, special grandniece Nikki Brooke Page, and former Husband William Daniel "Danny" Reidling Jr.

Survivors include daughter Dana Reidling Russell, son-in-law Christopher Russell, sister-in-law Sue Herring Chapman, nieces and nephews: Dean (Cathy) Chapman, Belinda (Melvin) Dills, Danny Whelchel, Yvonne Montgomery, Lisa Whelchel Page, five grandnieces, one grandnephew, and five great grandnieces.

The family would like to thank the members of Northeast Georgia Hospice for their loving care and support with a special thank you to Madison Clark, RN  

Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made to Mt. Vernon Baptist Church or Northeast Georgia Hospice.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday April 3, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. Rev. Steve Baker will officiate. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at Little & Davenport Funeral Home Tuesday April 2 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
