Cecil Lewis Green

Mr. Cecil Lewis Green, 79, of Gainesville, GA passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2014.

Born in Loganville, GA on March 14, 1935 he was the son of the late Leonard Lee and Ethylene Carter Green. Mr. Green had lived in Gainesville for the past 40 years. He was retired from General Motors where he worked in the Maintenance department.  He was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church and a former member of Blackshear Place Baptist Church.  He was also a member of the Gainesville Masonic Lodge #219 F&AM.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a number of brothers and sisters and by his stepson, Jeff Broom.

Mr. Green is survived by his wife of over 40 years, Mary Hawkins Green of Gainesville; daughter and son in law, Vicki and Keith Truett of Clermont; sons, Tommy Green of Lawrenceville, GA, Tony Green of Lewisville, TN, Ronney Green of Lawrenceville, GA, Randy Green of Winder, Ga; daughter, Robin Cheek of Winder, GA; step children, Janis Holsenbeck of Vinings, Cheryl Morris of Austell, Teri Sullivan of Austell; 21 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren as well as a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 2, 2014 in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home. Rev. James Mills will officiate. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Little & Davenport Funeral Home form 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2014.
