Evelyn (Norris) Scroggs

Mrs. Evelyn Norris Scroggs, 73 of Oakwood died Thursday May 19, 2016 at her residence.

A lifelong resident of Hall County, Mrs. Scroggs was the daughter of the late Joe D. and Myrtle Perry Norris.  She had worked for 26 years for Dixie City Pharmacy on McEver Road.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Oakwood and was very active with the Wisdom Circle at the church.

Survivors include her husband of over 55 years, Horace Lamar Scroggs, Oakwood; daughter, Denise Scroggs, Oakwood; grand-daughter and husband, Kortni and Russ Pullen, Oakwood; great grandchildren, Noah Pullen and Evalyn Pullen, Oakwood; sister, Robbie Jean Norris, Arkansas; special grand-dog, Scarlett.  A number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Mrs. Scroggs is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Bill Norris and J.D. Norris.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday May 22, 2016 at the First Baptist Church of Oakwood. Rev. Steve Fenlon and Rev. Myles Brown will officiate.  Interment will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. Robby Williams officiating.  The family will receive friends at Little & Davenport Funeral Home Saturday May 21, 2016 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.

The family has asked that the deacons of First Baptist Church of Oakwood serve as honorary pallbearers and assemble at the church by 3:45 p.m. Sunday.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church of Oakwood, 3780 Old Oakwood Road, Oakwood, Ga. 30566
