George Lee Spencer

George Lee Spencer, 86, of Oakwood died on October 13, 2016. 

A longtime resident of the area and retired business owner, George grew up in West Virginia and was the son of the late Alice Fanear and Jesse Lee Spencer.

He leaves behind Helen, his loving wife of 63 years; his children Paula Dozetos, Carol Spencer, Jim Spencer, and Ann Brown; his sister, Virginia Ann Hatfield.

Over the years, George shared his love of the outdoors and the lake with his five children, five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, all of whom took boat rides and lawn mower rides on his lap.  

A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he is preceded in death by his son, Kenneth Spencer, his brother Charles Spencer, and his sister Dorothy Christ. 

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Monday, October 17, 2016 in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home.  Rev. Dave Channell will officiate.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday October 17, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.  Interment will follow in the Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, GA.
