George Stedman Petley

George Stedman Petley, 88 of Gainesville passed away Saturday November 11, 2017.

​Born in Winchester, Virginia,  Mr. Petley was the son of the late George Edward and Mary Christine Harding Petley.  He had lived in Hall County for a number of years.  Mr. Petley served in the United States Army and was self employed in the Insurance Business.  

Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Christy and Phillip Sims, Gainesville; Pam and Thomas Keesee, Peachtree Corners; son, George Burton Petley, Gainesville; grandchildren, Hans Keesee (Brittany), Anna Abdou (Jimmy), Allanah Smith (Johnny), great grandchild, Natalie Noel Jean Smith.

Mr. Petley is preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Valeria Nesmith Petley, and second wife, Ersi Petley.  

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday November 14, 2017 in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home.  Dr. Matthew McGowan will officiate. Interment will be in the Georgia National Cemetery at a later date.    The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to Pruitt Health Home Health, 2545 Flintridge Rd. ,NE, Gainesville, Ga. 30501 in memory of Mr. Petley.
