Margie S. (Smith) McGill

Margie S. McGill, 80, of Gainesville passed away Friday, April 24, 2015 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Born in Lithia Springs on June 3, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Blanton and Vera Standridge Smith. She had lived most of her life in Hall County. Mrs. McGill worked for Georgia Power for a number of years and then began working as the bookkeeper for Dan McGill and Associates Engineering. She was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir and helping with the children’s choir.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Dan McClure McGill and niece Linda Moss Coggins.

She is survived by her sons and daughters in law, Dan McGill, Jr. and Lee Anne McGill, John Timothy McGill and Angie Shaw McGill; grandson, Cooper Andrew McGill; granddaughter, Cassidy Elizabeth McGill; sister, Martha Smith Moss; niece, Lisa Moss Perez; and nephew, Thomas Mark Moss.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday April 27, 2015 at Lakewood Baptist Church. Dr. Tom Smiley and Dr. Jerry Gill will officiate.

Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Little & Davenport Funeral Home Sunday April 26, 2015 from

2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
