Mrs. Margaret S. Woodruff

Margaret S. “Rusty” Woodruff, 83, of Oakwood, passed away Sunday, February 22, 2015 following a period of declining health.

Born in Brownsville, TX, on July 16, 1931, she was the daughter of the late John Edward Starr and Mabel Irene Meliza Starr. 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard T. Woodruff and grandson, Austin Woodruff Chatham.

Mrs. Woodruff is survived by her daughter, Pam Pitts of Oakwood; daughters and sons in law, Sherrill and Charlie Chatham of Oakwood, Kathleen and John Hammond of Dahlonega; daughter, Janet McKnight of Graford, TX; grandchildren, Christy (Brent) Goehringer, Tina (Sean) Mershon, Tiffany (Cole) Green, Stephen Hammond, Justyne Hammond, Jordan (Judge) Graham, Jeff (Reagan) Dickeson; great grandchildren, Gavin, Cooper, Aidan, Emilie, Rhett, Rachel, Blaine, Jake, Jett, Brityn and Patton; cousins Jeanne Starr and Shirley Starr.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at Memorial Park Cemetery with interment in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Little & Davenport Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to Halcyon Hospice 1435 Haw Creek Circle, Suite 402 Cumming, GA 30041
