Rebecca Diane O'Kelley Hanes

Mrs. Rebecca Diane O’Kelley Hanes, 64, of Gainesville, died Tuesday April 4, 2017 at Northside Forsyth Hospital.

Diane was the daughter of Edward Eugene and Martha Louise Reece O’Kelley.   She retired after 25 years from the Hall County School System, working as a ParaPro at Johnson High School.  She was an avid reader and loved gardening. Diane was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church.

Diane is survived by her husband, Wade Hanes of Gainesville; son and daughter -in-law, Steven and Amanda Hanes, Braselton; son, Kelley Hanes, Florida; mother, Martha O’Kelley, Gainesville; brother, Darwin O’Kelley, Gainesville; mother-in-law, Ruby Hanes, Gainesville; brother-in-law, Richard Hanes, Lula; sister-in-law and spouse, Mary and Mark Paglia, Gainesville; brothers-in-law and spouses, Jeff and Becky Hanes, Dahlonega and Charles and Lisa Hanes, Braselton; niece, Morgan O’Kelley and nephew, Cameron O'Kelley both of Gainesville; grandchildren, Dylan Hanes, Jacob Hanes, and Kella Hanes.  A number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Diane is preceded in death by her father, Edward Eugene O’Kelley.  

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday April 7, 2017 at the chapel of Little and Davenport Funeral Home.  Rev. Verlin Reece will officiate.  The family will receive friends at Little & Davenport Funeral Home Thursday April 6, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
