August 2, 1928-January 11, 2018

Rosemary S. Freeman, age 89, of Gainesville, Ga., passed away Thursday, Jan. 11, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earle and Sylvia Stricker.  She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Richard H. Freeman; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Jackie Freeman, Raleigh, NC; son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Melissa Freeman, Tybee Island, GA; son, Robert Freeman, Seattle, WA; daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Jervey Inglesby, Greenville, SC; grandchildren, Kristin, Chandler and Rollings Freeman, Raleigh, NC, and Dani and Jervey Inglesby, Greenville, SC.  She is also survived by her brother-in-law and wife, Edward and Sue Freeman, Jamestown, NY.

Rosemary Freeman was born on August 2, 1928, in Warren, PA.  She graduated from Warren High School in 1946, and from Western College for Women in Oxford, OH, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Dietetics and Nutrition in 1950.  She became a registered clinical dietitian and worked in numerous hospitals and nursing homes.  She was a member of the American and Georgia Dietetic Association.  She was also a member of the Grace Episcopal Church in Gainesville, GA.

Rosemary truly enjoyed serving others. First and most importantly, she tirelessly supported her family, organizing family camping trips, serving as a Cub Scout Den mother, and attending thousands of hours of children’s activities.  She supported her community through her dietician career, through her church where she served on various committees, and through other community service projects.  Growing up she was a camp counselor, and taught horseback riding to youth.  She enjoyed traveling and visiting family, reading, playing the Dulcimer in a local musical group, and hiking and hosting the BULLI hiking club.
