Suzanne P. Williams

Suzanne Preston Williams, 57 of Gainesville passed away Friday, October 6, 2017.

Suzanne was born on March 7, 1960 to Carolyn and Dick Williams at Piedmont Hospital.  She attended E. Rivers Elementary School and was a 1978 graduate of Pace Academy.  She received a B.A. in Political Science at the University of Georgia where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi. 

She served as Legislative Assistant to The Honorable Ed Jenkins, U.S .House of Representatives from 1984-1989 in Washington, D.C. ad returned to Atlanta to become Senior Vice President for Legislative and Political Affairs for The Home Builders Association of Georgia.  Suzanne earned numerous awards during this time including 2005 Lobbyist of the Year and was named 2010 Top Five Female Lobbyists by JAMES Magazine.

Suzanne is preceded in death by her father Dick Williams and brother, Matthew Williams.

She is survived by her sister, Lisa Williams Shunnarah, her husband Rick and niece Rachel of Sandy Springs, GA; brother Andrew Williams, his wife Allison, nephew Alexander of Charleston, SC and niece Olivia of Hilton Head, SC.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday October 24, 2017 at Grace Episcopal Church, 422 Brenau Avenue, Gainesville, GA 30501. 

In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Grace Episcopal Church, Holy Innocents' Episcopal Church, or any animal rescue organization of your choice.
