William F. Gilbert

William F. Gilbert, 73 of Gainesville passed away Tuesday September 12, 2017 

Mr. Gilbert had lived in Hall County for most of his life.  He was the son of the late Flint and Thelma Plott Gilbert.  He was retired from the Gainesville Parks and Recreation Department, served in the United States Army and attended New Haven Church.   A caring and loving person, Mr. Gilbert loved animals and loved helping people.  He will be missed very much by all who knew him.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Gilbert, Gainesville; sisters, Brenda S. Anderson, Dahlonega; Mary S. Harper, Murrayville; brothers, Ronnie L. Gilbert, Lula; James L. Gilbert, Gainesville.  A number of nieces and nephews also survive.

A private graveside service will be held.  The family will receive friends at Little & Davenport Funeral Home Thursday September 14, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again Friday September 15 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia, 845 West Ridge Road, Gainesville, Georgia  30501 in memory of Mr. Gilbert.
