Billie Sue Mitchell Anderson, age 88, passed away peacefully and went on to glory on October 26, 2018. She was born April 30, 1930, in Red Bay, Alabama to Logan Morgan Mitchell and Melissa Louverda “Lula” Mink Mitchell. For many years, Sue was a nurse in Alabama for Dr. “Jim” who trained her in his office and while making house calls. Sue’s retirement jobs included working with the other ladies at Chestatee Growers, planting in her own yard and garden as well as helping raise her beloved grandchildren. She was a long time member (and official biscuit maker for the men’s club) of New Hope United Methodist Church.
Sue is preceded in death by her husband, Erwin William “Andy” Anderson. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children: Mitzi McDearis, Ball Ground, GA; Billy Ross (Lavada) Anderson, Clermont, GA; and Suzy (Morris) Mayo, Dawsonville GA; seven grandchildren: Shannon (Noelle) McDearis; Ryan (Nadine) McDearis; Michael Anderson; Jessie Anderson; Cynthia (Justin) Roland; Corey (Sadie) Mayo; and Chad (Kelly) Mayo; five great-grandchildren and brother, Jimmy (Hannelore) Mitchell, Snohomish, WA; and a host of extended family.
Celebration of Sue’s life will be held at New Hope United Methodist Church, Forsyth County, GA at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 28, 2018. The family will receive visitors in the sanctuary beginning at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory of Sue to New Hope United Methodist Church.
