Cleo Junior Gunter, 75 of Gainesville passed away Saturday August 3, 2019 at his residence following an extended illness.
Born on July 13, 1944 in Forsyth County, Mr. Gunter had lived in Hall County for the majority of his life. He was the son of the late Cleao and Arleva Martin Gunter.
Mr. Gunter worked at Shade Allied for many years and also worked at Grove River Feed Mill as a panel operator until he retired. He loved gardening, wood working and sharing his garden vegetables with many of his friends. He was a faithful member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Ruth Gunter, Gainesville, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Ted Moon, Flowery Branch, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Michael Sayre, Ohio; stepson and daughter-in-law, Troy and Jodie Brumbalow, Cumming, GA; stepson, Brady Brumbalow, Gainesville, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Crystal and Brannon Jones, Gainesville, GA. Grandchildren; Taylor (Kara) Thompson, Jaimi (Dusty) Edwards, Joshua (Melanie) Gunter, William Black, Jerry (Sarah) Bell, Janice Bell, Zachary Brumbalow, Riley Brumbalow, Ashley (Trent) Varnadore, Hannah (Austin) Wilbanks, and Morgan Jones. Sister, Ruby Mauldin, Dahlonega, GA; sister-in-law, Jimmie Nell Gunter, Murrayville, GA; sister-in-law and spouse, Ann (Dwight) Tallant, Cumming, GA; brothers-in-law and spouses; Bob (Roze) Harper, anywhere, USA, and James (Karen) Harper, Sierra Vista, AZ; 13 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Gunter is preceded in death by his parents, sister and brother-in-law, Beth and Harry High; brothers, Earl and John D. Gunter; brother and sister-in-law, Herbert and Betty Gunter; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lee Clara and Dilmus Smith, Edna and A.C. Holland, Sue and Ricky Herrington; brother-in-law, Randall Mauldin; sister, Mildred Gunter.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday August 7, 2019 in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home with interment at Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Hall County. Rev. David Matthews will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday August 6 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Little & Davenport Funeral Home.
