Our hearts are broken at the news of Ross' passing. There is some comfort in knowing that his soul is at peace, but the loss of his smile and his positive spirit will be sorely missed. Our prayers are with you Sharman, Lindsay, Stacie, and Whitney.

Sorry for your loss of a husband and father. I met Ross in January 1970 at Ricks College. We were roommates at the elms at BYU. He was and is a great friend who I will miss. He could always make you laugh and had that smile on his face when ever you saw him. Thankful for the plan of salvation which we have in the gospel of Jesus Christ. My best wishes to his family at this time of loss.

I had a double lung transplant at Cleveland Clinic when I was 70 years old 2016. I first met Ross at a lung transplant support group prior to my transplant. He was my inspiration. Always positive in his remarks from his own recent experience. He gave my wife and me courage to go through my own transplant, you might say he helped save my life. He was a fine man and I not only like him but appreciated our brief relationship. He is missed. Peace to his family.

Sharman and Family, I am saddened to learn of your loss. Ross was always a pleasure to work with @ ADP. I was his first manager and the enthusiasm and professionalism he displayed for his work, his clients and all those he came into contact with was refreshing. He used to call me his "East Coast Dad" and I took pride in that reference from such a wonderful person. My prayers are with the entire Pope family.

Sincerely, Tom Hoof

So sad that we will not see his smiling face at church anymore. He was a good man and cared for those around him. We know he is still in service on the other side and will prepare a place for those who follow.

Gerald and I will be out of town rest of week but prayers and thoughts with your family. May the good Lord bless and keep you and confort you in your time of loss.

Ross was a good man. I knew him at BYU at the Elms. He took me to his BYU's men's club Ball. All the young Women were placed sitting in a large circle with their dates standing behind them. It was at a beautiful old Salt Lake Mansion in this large main ballroom. Suddenly all of the young men broke out singing in beautiful harmony, to the women. It was an incredible memorable moment. Then something was passed around the circle to each woman. It landed in one woman's hands which meant her beau was proposing and he then gave her a ring! It was a breathtaking moment. I believe Ross's club focused on service. I may have photos of Ross jumping out of a 2 story friends cabin in Brighton into 4 feet of snow! If I can find the photos I would like to send them to the family if you tell me where to send them. Condolences and blessings to your family.

I was so deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Ross. He was such a good man and so respected. The last time I saw him was shortly before he moved out of KY and he and his daughter were having lunch in a Chinese restaurant and he asked me to join them and insisted on buying my lunch. He was just a kind, giving, sweet man. Gone too soon but this is one man where you can confidently know he will be okay and is in a good place - joining those who went before him and preparing a spot for the rest of his family. God bless the Pope family. I am so sorry for your loss. To his daughters - I lost my dad last year, so I know the hole in your heart. It gets easier to where you can smile when you think of him every day. Peggy Burkett

We met Ross through lung transplantation. We held the monthly support meetings in the Greater Cincinnati area where Ross used to attend. We worked with Ross to educate others on the importance of donating organs but also to those most fortunate to receive a new set of lungs or to help others go through the process to get listed to receive new lungs. As members of this support group as well as members of Second Wind we relied on his help on numerous occasions. We will miss his energy and dedication. We guess he won't be sending us those pamphlets we needed. lol

R.I.P. Ross. We have gained another angel in heaven. We know you will be helping us from heaven. Your husband and father was a very special man. We know that we will miss him. We know you must be devastated by your loss. We are keeping you in our prayers.

To the family, I am sorry for your loss. I worked with Ross many years at ADP and he was a great salesperson and a better person. My mother-in-law Vonda would talk about him as well, she was at Paul Miller Ford in Lexington, KY when Ross was their salesperson and I know how highly she thought about him. I played golf with Ross at the ADP outings and I was lucky enough to be in his group one time and he would be a joy to be around and made everyone laugh. He would come to the office in Florence, KY and talk to everyone and he would always make time and get to know each and everyone of us. Such a kind and caring person. Rest in peace my friend.
