Paul Frank Gauder

Paul F. Gauder, 90, of Gainesville, passed away July 23, 2018 following a steady decline in health.  Paul was born June 24, 1928 in Akron, Ohio to the late Paul N. and Mary Klein Gauder.

He was an Eagle Scout in High School and attended Akron University.  Paul served in the Navy from 1946-1948 and 5 yrs. Naval Reserve and 2 yrs. Merchant Marines.

Paul married his wife Gloria Horne Gauder of almost 64 yrs., on August 28, 1954.  He and Gloria moved to Gainesville in 1973 and he retired from ITT Cannon in 1980.  In 1995 the family moved to Westminster, S.C., where they were members of the Hopewell United Methodist Church.  They returned to Gainesville in 2016.

In addition to his wife Gloria, Paul is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Kurt and Beverly Thompson Gauder; daughter and son-in-law; Cindy and David Bryant; granddaughters, Amanda Bryant and Angela and Justin Wilson; great-grandchildren, Kayden, Logan and Maddilynn Wilson; sister, Mary Rose Lowry; nephew, Scott Lowry; nieces, Janet Snyder and Julianna Williams.

A celebration of life will be held August 11, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Hopewell United Methodist Church, 750 Methodist Dr. Westminster, S.C. 29693.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Church in Paul’s memory.
