Rachel Julia Neal (Carpenter) Boyd

Mrs. Rachel Julia Carpenter Neal Boyd, 77 of Cleveland died Sunday August 20, 2017 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Born in Gastonia, NC, Mrs. Boyd was the daughter of the late Loy George and Amy Hedgepeth Carpenter. A former resident of Hall County, Mrs. Boyd had lived in White County for the past 25 years.   She was a homemaker and beautician, and was retired from Wal-Mart in Gainesville where she had worked for over 22 years.  Mrs. Boyd was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Forsyth County.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Floretta and Paul Taylor, Cleveland; Teresa and Tim Hulsey, Clermont; grandchildren, Amanda Kastner (Joey), Cleveland; Breanna Sullens, Clermont; Cody Hulsey (Kelsey), Gainesville; Chris Taylor (Tymia) Commerce; great grandchildren, Corbin Sullens, Clermont; Joshua Kastner, Cleveland; Brooklyn Kastner, Cleveland; Avery Taylor, Commerce; Peyton Hulsey, Gainesville; sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Bobby Brown, Gastonia, NC; brothers and sisters-in-law; Mervin Carpenter (Carlene), Dallas, NC; Clarence Carpenter (Sandy), Rock Hill, SC; Bobby Carpenter (Sheila) Mt. Holly, NC; Raymond Carpenter (Sandra) Dallas, NC; Lewis Carpenter (Beverly), Stanley, NC; special niece, Deborah Kennedy (Mike), Stanley, NC; a number of other special nieces and nephews also survive.

Mrs. Boyd is preceded in death by her parents, husband, John Toy Boyd, brothers, Paul Carpenter and Kenneth Carpenter.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday August 23, 2017 in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home.  Rev. Danny Kastner will officiate.  Interment will follow in the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery in Forsyth County.  The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday August 22 at the funeral home.
