Russel M. Geer, 96 of Gainesville, Georgia passed away on Monday, May 22, 2018. He was born on March 27, 1922 in Arlington, Massachusetts. Russel was preceded in death by his parents Russel M Geer Sr,  Edith Gilmartin Geer (who passed away shortly after he was born) and step mother Elizabeth Wyman Geer.

Mr. Geer is a graduate of Brown University and also the University of Connecticut School of Law. After getting married to his wife Anida, he moved to Athens, Georgia to work for General Times.  He later moved to Gainesville to open H & R Block which he owned for over 40 years.  

Russel was also preceded in death by Anida Belliveau Geer his wife of 62 years. Mr. Geer is survived by his daughter Edith Geer Abernathy and son-in-law Trey Abernathy, grandsons Andrew Abernathy & John Russell Abernathy of Johns Creek, Georgia.

A graveside service will be held for family on Friday May 25th at 10:00.

The family also wants to express their gratitude to Leslie Hettenback and Faynia Davis who have helped with caregiving for Russel the past few years.
