Steve J. Burtz

Steve J. Burtz, 70, of Murrayville died Saturday November 9, 2019.   Steve was born in Murrayville on February 18, 1949 to the late Leroy Lavan and Lilliebell Tapp Burtz.

He was retired from Macklanburg Duncan after 30 plus years.  He was a talented craftsman and enjoyed woodworking, carving, iron works, gardening and fishing.  He was also an avid collector and antique enthusiast.

In addition to his parents Steve is preceded in death  by his sister,  Brenda Lee Caddell.

He is survived by son and daughter-in-law,  Shane (Nancy) Burtz; daughter Stacy Burtz; son and daughter-in-law, Scott (Stephanie) Burtz; daughter and son-in-law; Sunny (Kent) Howington.  Uncle Ben Tapp, 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, numerous relatives and lifelong friends.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday November 13, from 2-6 p.m. and again on Thursday November 14, from 4-8 p.m. at Little & Davenport Funeral Home.  Funeral Services will be held Friday November 15, at 1:00 p.m. at Murrayville Congregational Holiness  Church.  Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.
