Florence “Andrea” Ball Shockley passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Northeast GA Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born to the late Thomas Rust and Leonora Johnson Ball, SR. She graduated from Druid Hills High School in Atlanta, GA and attended Sullins College in Virginia. Andrea loved her family, her kitty cats and puppy dogs, growing flowers and spending time at St. Simon’s Island and the mountains of North GA.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Thomas Rust Ball, JR., sister-in-law Susan Ball, and brother-in-law Eden Johnson.
She is survived by her son and daughter in law, BK (Trey) and Angela Shockley, daughter and son in law, Jennifer and Jason Ray, granddaughters Summer Shockley Jackson (Jordan) and Rylee Shockley Thomas (Trevor). Bonus grandchildren Haley & Jordan Gustavel, Kolby & Emma Ray, Loagan Ray, Madison Ray and Trey Ray. Great granddaughter Sutton Jackson and great grandson Tatum Thomas (due in January). Bonus great grandchildren Lathan Ledford, Fallon Ray, Kohen Hoofner, Riley Ray and Sutton Gustavel. She is also survived by her sister Martha Ball Johnson, numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews, and ex-husband BK Shockley, JR.
A very special thank you to Dr. Tewodros Alemu, Dr. Sonu Gupta, Collins Boakye, RN, BSN, Juli Dyer, FNP and nursing staff at Northeast GA Medical Center for the great care she received during her extended illness.
A private interment of ashes will be at Campton Church in the Ball family plot.
