Barbara A. Townsend

Barbara A. Townsend, 60, of Gillsville, went on to be with her Savior on May 26, 2022, after a long battle with her health.

Barbara was a fighter, a loving and caring mother even to those she took in as her own. We call her the community mom! As a nurse, caring would be more important than work or a payday. Her serving heart goes beyond the obligation. When someone got really sick or close to passing, she would drop everything she was doing to follow in the footsteps of her Lord and serve.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 20 years, Frank Townsend, and her children named in the order in which they were born: Amy Vaughn (Denton), Courtney Goss, Phillip Goss, Kelly Dewaters, Katie Goss, and Frank Townsend III (Aileen), and twenty grandbabies, as she lovingly referred to them

She was preceded in death by her father David Maynor and her daughter Brittney Ann Goss.

The family extends an invitation to visit with them on Saturday, May 28, 2022, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Little and Davenport Funeral Home, 355 Dawsonville Hwy, Gainesville GA 30501. A graveside service will be held at Timber Ridge Baptist Church located at Timber Ridge Rd, Gainesville GA 30507 on Sunday, May 29, 2022, at 3:00 pm.
