Bobbie Jean Smith, 88 of Gainesville passed away Friday April 17, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
A lifelong resident of Hall County, Mrs. Smith was the daughter of the late Floyd and Alberta Evans. Jean was a devoted Christian, loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a longtime member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church and was known by many as "Mama Jean."
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Janet Thrasher (Ricky), Jeanna Dyer (Ronnie), daughter, Mary Lynn Kinsey, sister, Beck Gilleland (Mark), sister-in-law, Linda Evans Dumas, grandchildren, Julie Wallis (Ben), Stacey Boleman, Megan Ellis (Tyler), Blake Kinsey, Steven Dyer (Skyler), several great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Mrs. Smith is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Frank (Bob) Smith, brothers, Doug and Bill Evans, sister, Linda Wallace, and son-in-law, Keith Kinsey.
Funeral services will be held Monday April 20, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home. Dr. Ricky Thrasher, Rev. Matthew Vandegriff and Rev. David Matthews will officiate. Interment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday April 19 from 4-7 p.m. and again Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
