Bunice (Evans) Charters

Bunice Evans Charters, age 87, of Gainesville, GA, passed away on Monday, June 3, 2024, at Emory Hospital following a brief illness.

Graveside services will be held Sunday June 9, 2024, at 3:00 p.m., at Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery, 3590 Thompson Bridge Road, Gainesville, Ga. 30506 with Rev. Joey Heard officiating.

Born on June 21, 1936, Bunice was the daughter of the late Maude Waldrip Evans and Herbert Clay. In addition to her parents, Bunice was preceded in death by her son, Steven Eugene Whitehead (whose remains will be interred with her), husband, Gene Whitehead, husband, Charles Charters, and brother Pete Evans.

She was a homemaker who lovingly cared for and cherished her family and friends. She was employed for many years as an accountant at Roses Department Store, Sherwood Plaza.  Mrs. Charters was a member of Corinth Baptist Church.
