Charlotte Clark Watson of Gainesville passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025, surrounded by her cherished family.
Charlotte was born to Maynard and Lula Clark in Knoxville, Tennessee. She attended Central High School in Knoxville. Shortly after graduating she married the love of her life, Robert. To know Charlotte was to know her love of her husband. Charlotte had many traits that we will always remember, but above them all was the love she had for her husband and family. Her steadfast strength in her faith was an inspiration to everyone who knew her.
The Watsons relocated to Gainesville Georgia in 1965. It was here Bob and Charlotte found a community full of lifelong friendships. Their involvement with Central Baptist Church and Lanier Hills Church shaped the lives of her family. Through her 38 years as a secretary at Enota Elementary, Charlotte touched thousands of lives with her kind smiles and warm hugs.
Charlotte knew more about the Atlanta Braves lineup than anyone. The joy she found from cheering on the Braves and Tennessee Volunteers was one of her favorite pastimes.
The many meals she prepared for her family in her home were unmatched. As her family grew with a son and daughter in law, grandchildren and the apple of her eye, a great grandchild, so did her heart.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years Robert Watson and her brother, Robert Clark
She is survived by her son Steve Watson (Christine) of Lawrenceville, daughter Sherry Hill (Jerry) of Murrayville, grandchildren, Wendy Fountain (Colt), Drew Hill, Robby Hill (Megan), Clark Hill (Georgia), sister-in-law, Barbara Clark, Knoxville, TN. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Sunday October 26, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home. Rev. Danny Newbern will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour. Interment will follow at the Alta Vista Cemetery.
