Damon Luke Crowe, 40, of Clarkesville, Georgia, passed away unexpectedly on April 26, 2026. He was born on November 29, 1985.
Damon was the kind of person who lived life with a smile on his face. He had an infectious grin, a huge heart, and a way of making people laugh even when they were trying their hardest to stay mad at him. He could be mischievous, stubborn, and knew exactly how to get under someone’s skin, but he was also the class clown, the one who could lighten a room, and the one who often knew just what to say to lift someone up when they needed it most.
He loved the outdoors and was happiest outside. Whether he was snowboarding, spending time on the creek, or wandering off on adventures looking for driftwood he could turn into something useful, Damon had a creative mind and a gift for working with his hands. He loved building, fixing, and tinkering, especially with anything that had a motor. If it did not run, Damon would find a way to make it run. He was incredibly intelligent and resourceful, and he had a natural talent for figuring things out in a way only Damon could.
One of his family’s favorite memories was when he took a Power Wheels John Deere Gator and somehow attached a small engine to it, making it go far faster than any children’s toy ever should. Since he could not keep up with it on foot, he hooked up a lead, jumped on a skateboard behind it, and controlled the throttle while the kids laughed and begged for it to go wide open. That was Damon—wild, creative, fearless, and always making memories.
Damon was not perfect, and like many people, he made mistakes in his life. But he owned them. He did not pretend to be something he was not, and when he messed up, he admitted it. His choices never erased the good in him or the love he had for his family. Damon had the biggest heart and would help anyone he could.
More than anything, Damon loved his children, Austin and Alyssa. He loved them deeply, even though life did not always allow him to be the father he needed to be. His love for them was real, and they were always a part of his heart.
Damon attended Rabun County High School and later completed his GED while incarcerated, something his family was proud of. He was smart, capable, funny, loving, and unforgettable.
Damon was preceded in death by his mother, Theresa Davis; his father, Samuel Crowe; his grandparents, Alyce and Luke Crowe, O.D. Darling, and Kay Burns.
He is survived by his children, Austin and Alyssa Crowe; his sister, Heather Abernathy, and her husband, Mitchell, of Gillsville, Georgia; his brother, Jerry Crowe and his wife, Tabitha, of Clarkesville, Georgia; his nephews, RJ and Taylor; his stepfather, Keith Davis; and many other family members and friends who loved him.
Damon’s life was not defined by his mistakes, but by the love he gave, the laughter he created, the memories he left behind, and the people who will carry him with them forever.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again on Saturday from 11:00 AM until 4:00 PM. The funeral service will follow on Saturday at 4:00 PM with Todd Davidson officiating
