Diane Thea Holman

Diane Thea Holman, 77, passed away on Monday, May 4, 2020 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, GA. Diane was born on May 2, 1943 in Thetford Mines, Quebec to Maurice and Alice Lessard. She was the eldest of three daughters. When she was 16, the family moved to Bradenton, FL and Diane graduated from Manatee High School in 1961. It was in Bradenton that she met Robert “Bob” Holman and they were married in August 1962. She and Bob lived in Florida, Georgia and northern Michigan.

Diane was predeceased by her parents and sister, Sylvie. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Bob, children Denise (Grant) McCammon, Dina (Forrest) Brewton and Richard Holman, and four grandsons, Bobby, Ben, Will and Jimmy. She is also survived by her sister, Julie (Dick) Emrick and sister-in-laws, Phyllis Vandermeer, Pat Holman, and Frieda Holman and brother-in-law, Dave (Fran) Holman and many nieces and nephews.

Diane devoted much time to raising her three children and always supporting them in their many activities and school functions. Over the years, she also actively volunteered in various organizations and supported many causes in Florida, Georgia and Michigan. In recent years, she and Bob shared many wonderful trips. Her greatest joy was nature photography with an emphasis on birds. She loved sharing her pictures and printing them on canvas to create works of art. Many of her friends have her canvases hanging in their homes. Diane loved to play golf, listen to music, cook and she especially delighted in decorating their home for the holidays. Diane enjoyed and excelled at hosting parties and dinners and always paid great attention to detail to make her guests feel welcome.

A memorial will be planned at a later date.
