Don Gregory Phillips of Gainesville passed away Friday, February 27, 2026, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center surrounded by his family.
He was born in Buford, Georgia on March 11, 1960, to his parents Joel Don Phillips and Bobbie Sue Grier Phillips. He graduated from Johnson High School in 1978. He graduated from Gainesville College.
He is preceded in death by his father, Joel Don Phillips, grandparents, James Robert and Clemmie Vermillion Grier, Clyde Thomas and Annie Mae Phillips.
He retired as a fireman and a paramedic with Station 2 at Clermont and Station 13 in Gainesville, Georgia. He was an avid collector. Greg was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Gainesville, GA.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Rebecca Aikens Phillips, his mother Bobbie Sue Phillips, sister and brother-in-law, Lynn and Paul Harrison, brothers and sisters-in-law, Jimmy and June Aikens, Bobby and Robin Aikens; mother-in-law, Evalena Aikens. A number of nephews and nieces also survive.
Visitation is Tuesday, March 3, 2026, from 11:00-3:00 at Little & Davenport Funeral Home 355 Dawsonville Hwy., Gainesville, Georgia. Graveside services will be held at Faith Baptist Church Cemetery on White Sulphur Rd. next to New Haven Church at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
