Mr. Douglas S. Myers Jr., age 80 of Blairsville, passed away on June 1, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. Doug was born on June 3, 1945 in Niagara Falls, NY, the son of Douglas S. Myers Sr. and Patricia K. Myers. He was an Army Veteran, having served in the Vietnam War. After his service to his country, Doug later retired after over 30 years with BellSouth Telecommunications. He loved boating and watching his favorite sports teams: the Atlanta Braves, the Buffalo Bills, and the Georgia Bulldogs. Doug also enjoyed traveling with his late wife, Judy, and attending his grandchildren's sporting events. He was a loving and supportive husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Doug was preceded in death by his father, Douglas S. Myers Sr.; his sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and John Brahaney; and his loving wife of 53 years, Judy Myers. Surviving Doug are his mother, Patricia Myers of Gainesville, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Alicia Myers of Northport, AL; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Paul Goebel of Gainesville, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Bo Hairston of Clermont, GA; ten grandchildren, Chris Myers (Autumn), Megan White (fiancé Nick DeVeau), Hayden Cox, Ashley Myers, Jack Goebel, Kaitlyn Hairston, Shawn Myers, Ryan Myers, Lauren Myers, and Chris Hairston; two great-grandchildren, Caroline and Jackson Myers; and nephew Darrin Brahaney (and family), as well as many other relatives and friends.
A private service will be held by the family.
