Frank Oliver, 95, of Gainesville, Georgia, died peacefully on Saturday, June 27, 2026, surrounded by his family and loved ones.

Frank, a long-time resident of Gainesville, was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He grew up near Walhalla, South Carolina and was one of 10 siblings. He spoke often and fondly of his childhood on the family farm. When he became old enough, he joined the Air Force and served proudly both in the United States and overseas. 

He was a loyal friend and a Christian with an unwavering faith in the Lord. He was a member of the Atlanta Road Church of Christ and was deeply saddened when he was no longer able to attend Church services in person due to health issues.   

Frank had a keen sense of humor and loved making people laugh.  He was an avid golfer and was fiercely competitive in every sport and card game he played.  He loved being outdoors and enjoyed hiking through the woods and observing wildlife.  He traveled extensively with his wife by his side and was always looking for new adventures.   

While in the military, stationed at McDill Air Force base in Tampa, Florida, he met the love of his life, Beverly Burdette.  They married while he was stationed in Germany and made their home eventually in Panama City, Florida.  After his military service, Frank worked a variety of jobs related to heating and air installation and repair in Tampa.  Eventually he moved to Gainesville, Georgia and began working with the General Services Administration as a building manager.  When he retired from this position he moved back to Tampa, Florida where he and Beverly lived until their grandkids came on the scene.  They moved back to Gainesville to be close to the grandkids and family and made their permanent home there.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harbin and Essie Oliver, his sister, Blanche, and his brothers, Lester, Newton, Elmer, Bruce, and Jack.  His surviving family includes his wife, Beverly, his daughter Karen McKenzie (Joel), his grandchildren Sarah Almand (Matt), Morgan Braddy, Susan Ivester (Brandon), Tiffany McKenzie, Amanda Kirkland (Kyle), and Joey.  His great-grandchildren are Maggie and Reese Almand, Olivia Pruitt (Ethan), Hunter, Ember, Breckyn and Jax. He will also be sorely missed by his sisters Vivian and Rachel and brother Davis.   

Funeral Services will be held at the Little and Davenport Funeral Home on Monday, July 6th.  Visitation is from noon until 2:00 with the funeral service immediately following the visitation at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, we ask that a donation be made in Frank Oliver’s name to a charity such as the St. Judes, American Heart Association, the Dementia Society of America, Make a Wish Foundation or Feeding America Organization.
