G.W. Adams

G.W. Adams, 84 of Gainesville passed away Thursday September 24, 2020 at his residence.

Born in Lumpkin County, Mr. Adams had lived in Hall County for most of his life.  He was employed at Pepsi Cola for 18 years before opening and operating Northeast Georgia Vending in Gainesville for many years.  Mr. Adams was a member of South Bend United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Janie Adams; son, Bruce Adams; daughters and sons-in-law, Robin and Morris Smith; Angie and David Mote; grandchildren; Wendy and Alvin Marlow, Jeremy and Jessica Adams, Adam and Rosa Smith, Andy and Whitney Mote, Jin Seon and Colt Goddard, Richie Mote, Lauren Adams; great grandchildren, Kaleb Adams, Isaac Purdy, Konner Adams, Kaydee Adams, Wyatt Goddard, Jacob Smith, Naima Duong, Madelynn Goddard, Wesley Goddard, Noah Smith, Jordon Mote; sister, June Grizzle; brother, Butch Guanti; a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Mr. Adams is preceded in death by his parents, Garland A. and Grace Parrish Adams, stepmother, Carrie Adams; wife, Mildred Sailors Adams, great grandson, Riley Chan Smith, brothers, Floyd Smallwood, Tommy Adams and Ronald Adams.

Memorial services will be held Sunday October 4, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. at South Bend United Methodist Church.  Rev. Marshall Dale will officiate.  Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at the church.    A private family burial will be held at a later date at Harmony Hall Baptist Church Cemetery.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic social distancing will need to be observed for everyone's health and safety and mask are recommended.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial contributions please be made to Encompass Hospice, South Bend United Methodist Church or ones favorite charity.
