Gayle Pearce Dunlap

Gayle Dunlap, age 83, a fifth generation Gainesvillian, passed away May 13, 2024.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Gayle and Emily Pearce Dunlap, and his son, James Gayle Dunlap II.

An Eagle Scout and 1958 graduate of Gainesville High, he attended the University of Georgia before joining the US Army serving in Germany.

Surviving are his longtime partner, Yvonne Whitmire and daughter, Whitney Dunlap. Also surviving are his grandson, Samuel Dunlap and granddaughter, Carol Kate Dunlap along with his sister and brother-in-law, Sissy and Bobby Lawson and nephews Robb and Jay Lawson and their families.

Friends and family are invited to his graveside service on Wednesday, May 22, at 11:00 AM at Alta Vista Cemetery.
