George Carlton Askew

George Carlton Askew, 78 of Gainesville passed away Sunday, December 1, 2019 at his residence. 

Born in Birmingham, AL, Mr. Askew was the son of the late James Hardy and Lola Louise Herrington Askew.  He was retired as an administrative officer with the Georgia Department of Transportation. 

Survivors include his wife, Brenda Askew; sons, George Carlton Askew, Jr. (Tammy) and James Askew (Kellie); grandchildren, Jennifer Cantor, Kimberly Askew, Dillon Askew, and Justin Askew; great grandchildren, Reese and Margo Cantor.

Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 5, 2019 at Hillcrest Abbey East Cemetery, 1600 Wheaton St, Savannah, GA 31404. The family will receive friends at Little & Davenport Funeral Home on Tuesday December 3, 2019 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
