James R. "Sonny" McIntyre

James R. "Sonny" McIntyre, 81 of Gillsville  passed away Thursday August 13, 2020 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

A lifelong resident of Hall County, Mr. McIntyre was the son of the late Jimmy and Odessa Sosebee McIntyre.  Mr. McIntyre  served in the United States Air Force and was a retired Captain with the City of Gainesville Fire Department, and was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.

Survivors include his sister and brother-in-law, Patricia "Pat" and George "Mac" Pope of Jefferson.

Graveside services will be held Monday August 17, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Alta Vista Cemetery.  Rev. Boone Strickland will officiate.  The family will receive friends at Little & Davenport Funeral Home Sunday August 16, 2020 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. 

Due to the on going COVID-19 pandemic , social distancing will need to be observed for everyone's health and safety and masked are recommended.
