Jean Boone Hill of Gainesville passed away peacefully at home on May 16, 2026, after a courageous battle with a longtime illness. She was born in Atlanta, GA, on December 22, 1940, and was the daughter of the late, James and Agnes Boone of Charlotte, NC.

Jean attended Mary Baldwin College and was Vice President of Interior Space Consultants. She was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church where she was an Elder.

She loved gardening, cooking, and traveling, especially with her sisters whom she cherished, and spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, H. Lloyd Hill and is survived by her sons, James Cherrybone and John (Brooke) Cherrybone of Gainesville,  GA; sister, Lynda Davis of Charlotte, NC; grandsons, Boone Cherrybone and Benjamin Cherrybone; granddaughter, Jamie (Tim) Taylor; great granddaughters, Breanna Walls and Hailey (Daniel) Hinshaw, great grandson, Drew Cherrybone; 2 great-great grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Northeast Georgia Humane Society.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 24, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home in Gainesville, GA, with Rev. Shon Peppers. A private family graveside will follow after. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
