Jimmy Lester Green

Jimmy Lester "Paw Paw" Green, age 77, of Gainesville, GA passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, November 27, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Gainesville, Ga., Mr. Green had lived in Hall County for most of his life. He was the son of the late Grover Lester and Rilla Corine Phillips Green. He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Ester Clemmons and Sue Platt, and his brother, Harold Bennett.

Jimmy was a devoted member and longtime deacon of Rock Hill Congregational Holiness Church. He served in law enforcement for many years as a deputy sheriff for both Forsyth and Hall Counties. Jimmy was happily married to his wife, Judy, for 59 years.

Survivors include his wife, daughters, Jackie (John) Carroll, Tracey (Michael) Satterfield, Sr., grandchildren, Samantha (Josh) Parker, Brandon (Alyssa) Cormick, and Michael Satterfield, Jr., great grandchildren, Conner, Grayson, William, and Trinity, sister, Carolyn Veal.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 1, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home with Rev. Phillip Wehunt officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again Monday from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of service.
