Jimmy Guy Nix, age 78, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 28th, following a short illness. He was born August 16, 1946, in Gainesville, GA, where he lived all his life.
Jimmy graduated from Gainesville High School in 1965. He attended Truitt McConnell College, followed by the University of Georgia, where he received his BBA. Jimmy began his career in Real Estate. He then went on to work with his family’s construction business. He served in the US Army and US Army Reserves from 1969 to 1974. He had a passion for the outdoors and was an avid gun and knife collector.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Hoyt and Betty Nix, and his brother, Johnny Nix. He is survived by his former wife and friend Sheila Williams Nix, son Zachary Williams Nix, grandchildren Arabella Nix and James “Turner” Nix, and nephews Johnny Hoyt Nix JR (Jack) and William Stephens Nix.

A graveside service will be held at Alta Vista Cemetery on Friday, September 6th, at 2:00 PM. The Reverend Milton Martin Jr. will be officiating the service.
