Johnnie D. Smith Skinner, 82 of Oakwood passed away Monday April 4, 2022. She was the daughter of the late J.M. Smith, Jr., and Pearlie Mae Mathis Smith.
Ms. Skinner was a resident of Oakwood, GA, but had also resided in Florida and Indiana. She was known for her fashion, style, and beauty. Ms. Skinner was a homemaker and had a keen eye for interior design and impeccable taste.
Ms. Skinner battled health issues for the past several years. It never stopped her from enjoying a good time of BINGO and socializing. She spent the later part of her life showing kindness, sincerity, and love to each person around her. Her gratitude for her life and those she loved is her true legacy.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Gerald "Jerry" Skinner, Jr. and Darlene Skinner, grandsons, Chad Skinner, Bonnie Skinner, Jeremy Skinner, Verana Skinner, Jerad Skinner, grand-daughter, Brittin Gibbs, great grandchildren, Bayley, Izzy, Brantley, Levi Skinner and Madysen, Ashlyn, Allie Gibbs, daughter-in-law, Kimberly Brown, brother, Jimmy Smith and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Ms. Skinner is preceded in death by her parents, sons, Richard "Mike" Skinner, Steven Skinner and great grandson, Dillon Gibbs.
Memorial services will be held Sunday April 10, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home. Pastor Ryan Roberts will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until the funeral hour.
