Martha Ann (Howell) Gilmer

Martha Ann Gilmer, 79 of Gainesville passed away Tuesday March 20, 2018.

Born in Hall County, Ms. Gilmer was the daughter of the late Alvin and Ora White Howell.  She served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and later worked as a private duty nurse for a number of years.  

Survivors include her children, Catherine Minor, Vivian Crawford, John McCarter, adopted son, Rory Adams,  a sister, Jane Jones, Gainesville.  A number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, niece and nephew also survive.

Ms. Gilmer is preceded in death by her parents, Alvin "Coot" and Ora White Howell, son, Ricky; sister, Charlotte Roberts and a brother, David Howell.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday March 24, 2017 in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home.  Pastor Stan Peck will officiate.  Interment will follow in the Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday March 23, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. and again Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
