Marvin Jimmy Martin

Marvin Jimmy Martin, 88 of Gainesville passed away On Monday December 30, 2024, at his residence.

A lifelong resident of Hall County, Mr. Martin was the son of the late Guy Luther and Ibbie Robinson Martin. He worked for a number of years for Dixie Home Builders, before he started his own business of Martin Construction from where he retired. Mr. Martin was a member of Springway Baptist Church.

He loved traveling to the beach and the mountains.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Rachel Ann King Martin, sons and daughters-in-law, Dean and Shelley Martin, Jimmy and Connie Martin, grandchildren, Justin Martin and Katie Maxwell, Shane and Marybeth Martin, Ally Martin, Jonas and Natalie Martin, Sheena Martin and Don Blitch, Kala and Matt Dillard, great-grandchildren, Luke, Kennedy, Bailey, Noah, Zoey, Prudence, Emma, Alixandra, and Rylee, and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Martin is preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, 1 sister, 4 half-brothers and 5 half-sisters.

Funeral services will be held Friday January 3, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home. Rev. Chris York and Rev. Steve Fenlon will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday January 2 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
