Mary Kimani was born on January 23rd, 1986, in Nairobi, Kenya, to loving parents Tarsilla and Wilson Kimani. From a young age, Mary was bright and curious, beginning her schooling in 1990 at Dayspring Junior School. She completed her primary education at Jossy Preparatory School and continued her studies through high school at Saleka Academy.
In 2005, Mary moved to the United States and in 2008, she joined the U.S. Army, serving her adopted country with honor. Her military career included two deployments to Iraq and one to Afghanistan. After a decade of service, she was honorably discharged in 2018 as a decorated veteran.
After her military career, Mary transitioned to the field of IT, working at companies like Optima, Home Depot, and Walmart until 2021. She was known for her hard work, problem-solving skills, and dedication to her colleagues.
In April 2022, Mary experienced a spiritual transformation when she gave her life to Jesus Christ and was baptized. Her faith became a central part of her life, as she started finding peace and purpose in her relationship with God.
On September 15th, 2024, Mary passed away peacefully in her sleep, leaving behind a legacy of strength, service, and faith. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her. May she rest in eternal peace.
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 23, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home in Gainesville, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Graveside services will be held Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA.
