Matthew Allen Buyatt Obituary

Matthew Allen Buyatt, 45, of Toccoa, despite taking all bike riding safety precautions, Matthews passed away from injuries sustained from a bicycle crash on June 6, 2026. Matthew was born in Wurzburg, Germany in 1981 while to wall was still standing dividing East and West Germany. His mother and father were a military family.


Matthew had lived an adventurous and mischievous childhood living in many places. He struggled in life and those struggles became worse after an accident that caused a severe head injury, impacting him for the remainder of his life.


Matthew loved Jesus and could quote many of his favorite scriptures by memory. Matthew’s mind and body are now resting in peace with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Matthew was a believer of the Seventh Day Adventist Protestant Faith. 

 

Despite Matthew's difficulties in managing daily life, he prided himself on being independent and his ability to continue to live independently.


Survivors include daughter, Tara Buyatt, Van Cleave, MS.; father and stepmother. Mark Christian Buyatt and Rebecca Myers Buyatt of Gainesville, mother and stepfather, Maggie Page Chilcott and Michael Cilcott, Sharpsburg, Ga.; sister and her husband, Veronica Chilcott and Aaron Page and daughter, Evelyn Rose Page; brother and sister-in-law, Mark C. and Mandy Buyatt, Shiloh, GA; nephews, Austin and Christian Buyatt, Shiloh, GA.; and a host of family and friends whom Matthew leaves behind, as well as a host of family and friends who are gone and not forgotten.


Memorial services will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Little Davenport Funeral Home.
