Nancy R. Forrester

Nancy R. Forrester, 82 of Gainesville passed away Sunday June 27, 2021. Nancy was born January 15, 1939 in Lula, GA to the late Enos and Alice Smith.

Her beloved husband of 61 years, Jimmy Forrester, passed away on August 17, 2020. 

Nancy was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church.  Her favorite things in life were spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She had a true servant’s heart and loved witnessing to others and serving in her church and community.

She has been a resident at Laurel Lodge Assisted Living & Memory Care for the past 6 months.  We would like to express our deep appreciation and thanks to the staff at Laurel Lodge and Homestead Hospice.

In addition to her parents and husband, Nancy is preceded in death by her brother, Junior Smith and sister, Nell Kenimer. 

Survivors include daughters (spouse), Cheryl O’Kelley (Randy Webb), Patti (Todd) Murrow; grandchildren (spouse), Nicki (Jon) Dubai, Dustin Carter, Joshua (Stasha) McCrary, Jessica (Drew) Miles, Micayla McCrary, McKinley O’Kelley; great grandchildren, Cohen Carter, Mary Katherine Koppenaal, Adelyn Carter, Sam Koppenaal, Oliver Miles; brother (spouse), Buddy (Hilda) Smith; sisters (spouse), Lenora Manley, Jenny Wiley, Martha Ann (Jimmy) Wilson.  She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Holly Springs Baptist Church on Friday, July 2, 2021 at 11:00 a.m.  Pastor Josh Chatham will be officiating.  The family will receive friends at the church after the service. 

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Alzheimer's Research/Bright Focus Foundation https://www.brightfocus.org/give or a Hospice organization of your preference.
