Pauline Skinner Obituary

Pauline Holcombe Skinner, 92 of Gainesville passed away Wednesday August 5, 2020.

Born in Hall County, Mrs. Skinner had lived in Gainesville most of her life.  She was the daughter of the late John T. and Margaret Lee Holcombe.  She was married to Loy Skinner for 47 years.  Mrs. Skinner graduated from Riverbend High School.

During the years they lived in Atlanta, they were very involved in the Atlanta Dahlia Society and won many awards.  She always enjoyed her yards and flowers, and told everyone she was an "outside person." Over the years she worked at Holiday Hall, did catering with Mary Smith, and worked at Lakewood Church.  Mrs. Skinner was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church, and very involved in her Sunday School class and the Golden Nuggets for many years.

Mrs. Skinner was  a good friend and neighbor to all who knew her  .A special thank you to the loving staff at The Resting Nest Personal Care Home

Survivors include a number of nieces and nephews and many cousins.

Mrs. Skinner is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Loy Skinner.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday August 8, 2020 in the Memorial Park Cemetery.  Rev. Don Ormsbee will officiate.  Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic social distancing will need to be observed for everyone's health and safety.  Mask are recommended.
