Rev. Larry Myers Forrester

Rev. Larry Myers Forrester, age 74 of Lula GA, met his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 29, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. 

Larry was born in Gainesville, Ga on December 10, 1945 to Garland and Lillie Forrester.  Larry was a minister for 54 years, graduated from Liberty University, pastored numerous churches, preached day and night services from Alabama to North Carolina, Minister on a radio broadcast and had a prison ministry that he attended until recently.  He served God every day of his life and wanted others to know him as he did.  He was a monument in his community and will be sorely missed.  He was a loving husband, daddy, PA, and friend. 

He was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Huel Forrester, Verden Forrester, Omazelle Carter and Mary Lynn Forrester.

Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Claudette Holman Forrester; son, Timothy Larry Forrester of Lula, Ga; daughter and son-in-law, Trena and Kenny Stroud of Hiawassee, Ga; grandchildren, Joshua, Victoria, Zackary, Elizabeth, Madison Stroud (Bennett Fuzak), Jackson, Jacob, Morgan, Judson, Jonah Forrester; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tex and Barbara Forrester, Jimmy and Rochelle Forrester, Emory and Joyce Forrester; sisters, Velva Tribble and Shelia Roberts and a host of nieces and nephews; special friends, David and Angie McClure, Franklin and Peggy Grant, Richard and Kathleen Acrey, and many many more.

His favorite scripture was Mark 11: 22-24.  The family would like to express our deepest gratitude for all the prayers and love we have felt during this difficult time. 

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a drive-by visitation will be held Saturday, May 2, 2020, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the Skitts Mountain Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, 9331 Skitts Mtn. Dr. Lula, Ga 30554.   Please do not get out of your vehicles due to the state mandates.  A private family graveside service will be held Saturday, May 2, 2020.  Rev. Josh Chatham will officiate.
