Rita Lynn (Abercrombie) Satterfield

Rita Lynn Abercrombie Satterfield, 61 of Dahlonega Georgia passed away on Saturday, May 6 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. 

Rita was born April 1, 1962, in Gainesville Georgia. She was a member of Crescent Hill Baptist In Sautee Nacoochee GA. She was preceded in death by her parents Mary Lucille Abercrombie and Walter Wesley Abercrombie of Dahlonega; Grandparents Charles and Florence Abercrombie of Dahlonega; Arthur and Annie Peck of Murrayville, and Brother Ricky Abercrombie of Murrayville. Rita lived most of her life in Murrayville & Dahlonega. Rita was known for being a hard-working businesswoman & entrepreneur.  She worked and ran a business alongside her husband Larry. 

Rita is survived by her loving husband Larry Satterfield of Dahlonega. Her son Don Chapman and Grandson Caspen Chapman of Murrayville; Sons and Daughter-in-law Shane and Hellery Satterfield of Gainesville; Ryan and Sharron Satterfield of Gainesville; Grandchildren Taylor and Rylee Satterfield and Brothers Joe and Jack; Sister MaryAnn Shope of Gainesville; Brother and Sister-in-law Lamar and Melinda Abercrombie of Gainesville; Nieces Monie Shope and Killie McCauley of Gainesville. Rita also leaves behind many extended family members and chosen family friend Michelle Waters. 

Rita’s “Free Bird” spirit, fiery quick wit, determination and zest for life will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends. Rita had a tremendous love for the outdoors, music, automobiles, motorcycles and most of all her family. Despite her love of adventure, being a “Gigi” was her greatest joy during the final years of her life. 

Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home at 2:00 pm Tuesday May 9th, 2023.   Reverend Danny Jarrard will officiate. Interment will follow at Yellow Creek Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7pm Monday May 8th,2023 at Little & Davenport Funeral Home.
