Roy Zane Patterson age 92 of Blue Ridge, GA passed away on Sunday, August 22, 2021.

Roy was born and raised in the Blue Ridge mountains which he dearly loved.  Despite traveling the world and having a choice of anywhere to live, he returned to his favorite place on the entire globe.  He is a Veteran of the US Navy and Korean War.  He retired from Crown Zellerbach after a 28-year career.  Roy loved to volunteer his time with various charities and church committees.  He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, walking dogs and exploring the great many natural wonders of the United States.

He is preceded in death by his wife Yvonne Patterson, his parents and 8 siblings.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Douglas Z. and Tammy Patterson of Saint Simon’s Island, GA, daughter Rhonda Stidham (Boyd) of Blairsville, GA, brother Connard Patterson of Hemptown, GA. Grandchildren Cade Patterson (Sheena), Shelley Fadeley (Kenny), Tracey Shelton, Tara Salley and Travis Tillman along with great grandchildren, and many beloved nephews, nieces, and cherished friends.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, August 28, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at Liberty Hill Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Scott Weichl officiating. The family will receive friends at Liberty Hill Methodist Church Saturday beginning at 12:30pm until the service hour. Liberty Hill United Methodist Church 255 Liberty Hill Road Blairsville, GA 30512.
