With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Talmadge R Mangum, 90, of Talmo,Ga. Born August 13,1933, passed away peacefully on Monday June 17, 2024 at New Horizon Nursing Home, surrounded by family.
Talmadge was a Veteran of United States Armed Forces. He worked at Diego Foods / Mission Foods for numerous years, and J & J Foods where he was known by many, until his retirement. He was a member of Pond Fork Baptist Church in Pendergrass,Ga.
He was preceded in death by wife Virginia Porter Mangum, Son Scott Mangum. Father Parson Mangum, Mother Ola Mae Gee Mangum. Brothers, Harold Mangum, Frank Jack Mangum, Rad Mangum, Gene Mangum, James (Tody) Mangum. Sisters, Louise Bryant, Jonelle Gilreath, Mildred Millwood Lewis.
He is survived by Tara Callahan of Clarksville (adored Daughter by Heart) and many nieces & nephews & other relatives.
Talmadge’s wishes was to have no service and to be cremated & placed with wife & Son at Pond Fork Baptist Church Cemetery in Pendergrass, Ga.
We would like to thank New Horizons Nursing Home and Hospice of Northeast Georgia Health Systems for their compassion and care for the last 5 yrs and thru his final Journey.
