Thomas “Tommy” W. Brownlow, 85 of Gainesville passed away Monday, March 30, 2020 at his residence following an extended illness.
Born on September 13, 1934 in Hall County, he was the son of the late E. F. and Maggie Thomas Brownlow. He served six months in the Army before going to work at SCT. After retiring he loved spending time with his wife, grandkids, and great-grandkids.
Survivors include his grandchildren, Mayor Troy (Jodie) Brumbalow, Cumming; Brady Brumbalow, Gainesville; Crystal (Brannon) Jones, Gainesville; Chad (Elizabeth) Matthews, Cumming; Chea (Scott) Greeson, Cumming; Roni (Brad) Matthews-Elder, Jasper; great grandchildren, Zachary Brumbalow, Riley Brumbalow, Ashley (Trenton) Varnadore, Hannah (Austin) Wilbanks, Morgan Jones, Sydney Braswell, Drake Braswell and Ricky Elder; one great great-grandson.
Mr. Brownlow is preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Marie Brownlow, his stepson, Stanley Brumbalow, stepdaughter, Sueject Matthews, brothers, John H., Ira B., and Willard Brownlow, sisters, Martha Brownlow, Marcella B. Reed, Major Margaret Brownlow, Mrs. Jean Nobel, and Mrs. Barbara Hosch.
The family has chosen due to the Coronavirus pandemic to not have visitation. A Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at Center Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Jackson County.
