Vera Wade Cochran, age 80, of Gainesville, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories filled with love, laughter, and kindness.

She was born on December 2, 1945, in Athens, Georgia, to the late Henry David and Bonnie Louise Wingfield Wade. Vera dedicated 31 years of her life as a flight attendant for Delta Airlines, a career she truly loved and took great pride in. She was a loving aunt who shared an especially close and meaningful bond with her niece, Sabrina (Jeffrey) Waters. Their relationship was filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support, creating a connection that was truly one of a kind.

She was always there with a kind word, a listening ear, and a comforting presence when it was needed most. She will be deeply missed beyond words and forever loved. She also leaves behind her dear friends, James and Ann Knight, who held a very special place in her heart. Their friendship meant so much to her, and they will miss her deeply.

She is survived by her sisters, Mattie Ann Owens and Shirley Hill; her brother, Willis Wade; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who will cherish her memory. Vera will be remembered for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and the way she brought light into the lives of everyone around her.
