Vera Mae Dover

Vera Mae Dover, 89, of Gainesville, passed on May 19, 2026 surrounded by her family,

She leaves behind her daughter and son in law, Wanda and Larry Burke; son and daughter in law, Gary and Dorothy Ann Dover; son and dedicated caregiver, David Dover; grandchildren, Dr. Rachel Burke Glass and husband David, Zachary Burke and Anna Claire Dover; great grandchildren, Addie Mae and Sumter Wade, and Zoe Burke; sister, Sarah Maughon and several nieces and nephews. Vera was especially close to niece Marie Merck and family.

Vera’s request was to be cremated and for her special friends and church family to gather for a celebration of life at her home. Family and friends honored her request. She is remembered for her years of love and service to her church family at Blackshear Place Baptist Church; for her dedicated years of work at Peachtree Pharmacy and for her love of her yard, flowers and garden. But most importantly of all, Vera will be remembered for her love and dedication to her family.
